The post office in Ajman was scheduled to open on November 29, 1963, according to Michel Stephen. One or more covers using stamps from the values-only series exist. There is also a possibility of covers with an Ajman return address and Dubai stamps and postal markings. I need to check on dates (and existence!). Ajman issued its first stamps on 20 June 1964. The shaikhdom agreed to join the United Arab Emirates on December 2, 1971. The UAE took responsibility for postal operations on August 1, 1972. Ajman's stamps may have been accepted for postage until April 1973. Covers from this period franked with both Ajman and UAE stamps exist. Please note that I have started to document some of the negotiations between the Goverment of Ajman and various stamp dealers.
