Yemen Cancels 1926 - 1962
Yérim - Zuhré

Yérim Zebid, Type 1 Zubeid
Zeidia Zisfal Zuhré

These cancels would have been used on mail addressed to Arab speaking countries. The name of the city or town still appears in both Arabic and Western forms, but the date is written in Arabic only. The cancels with the inside semi-circles are German-made and began to be used when Yemen joined the Universal Postal Union. The other cancels were modified at some point. Some of the cancels are incomplete because the actual cancels on which these drawings are based were either missing a portion of the cancel or were too illegible to copy.
