Yemen censored cover

Censored cover

The cover is franked with the 6 bogshas issue from the 1963 Proclamation of the Republic series. The date of the cancel is indistinct, but the cancel shows the cover was postmarked in Sana'a. There are no postal markings on the back of the cover.

Please note that I have covered the name and address on the cover.

Yemen Arab Republic Opened under the authority of the censor
The text on the tape reads, "al Jamhuriyah al arabiah al Yamaniah",which means "Yemen Arab Republic" in Arabic. The bottom line says literally, "Opened with the knowledge of the censor". A freer translation is, "Opened under the authority of the censor."

My thanks to Blair Stannard for the translation.
