The cover comes from a later period of the postal history of Umm al Qiwain. The shaikhdom issued three sets in 1970 and four in 1971, pursuing a more conservative stamp-issuing policy. The postal cancel on the front of the cover is evidence of the change of stamp agencies. The trapazoidal postmark and the Stolow agency were replaced by the Middle East Stamp Co. and a single ring postmark according to my notes. Still checking when this became official. Notice also the variations of the spelling of Umm al Qiwain.
