| Mail & eMail Bid Sale #12 closed on 10 June 2011. |
Welcome to our twelfth annual mail and email auction of worldwide bulk lots, covers, postcards, stamps and cancellations. With almost 700 lots, this is by far our largest auction ever. Because we are now receiving more donations of complete collections, we plan to hold auctions more frequently in future, beginning with several small auctions this fall.
This year we have a strong showing of world stamps, particularly Commonwealth Africa. As usual, there are many bulk Canadian covers, and 20th century world covers, mainly to & from Canada but also other international mail. There are some interesting early Nepal domestic covers from 1890's on, and some more recent international ones, in total over 60 covers. We also have a large selection of US covers from 1882 on.
New this year is a separate section of good Canadian cancels on stamps, selected from several donations. We have tried to describe these thoroughly and accurately, but for the complete picture it is best to view the scans on our web site at: www.ohmygosh.on.ca.
The popularity of Canadian picture post or "personalized" stamps continues to grow, judging by the number that came our way in 2010, and for the first time we are offering some USA personalized stamps too. We also have some Canadian greetings stamps with the "stick-on" labels, both on cover and off, as well as some personalized stamps on commercial covers.
At the end there is a special section of Canadian First Day Covers, most with special cachets from the 1960s & 70s.
We hope you find something
of interest. If we miss scanning the image of a lot in which you are particularly
interested, please let us know and we will try to upload it.
