Manama issued its first stamps on 5 July 1966. Manama is part of Ajman and was the home of the Trucial Scouts. Manama along with the rest of Ajman agreed to join the United Arab Emirates on December 2, 1971. The UAE took responsibility for postal operations on August 1, 1972. Manama's stamps may have been accepted for postage until April 1973.
